Romania is generating a lot of tourist industry buzz at the moment – it is soon to take off as a very popular destination, experts believe.
While visitor numbers are due to take off, unfortunately not that many cheap flights are. The budget airlines are tentatively dipping their toes into the Romanian market, but there still aren’t a great number of bargain deals around.
That’s not to say that there aren’t any though – the Romanian capital Bucharest can be flown to on a few low cost carriers from a few destinations across Europe. More will inevitably come in the next few years, but for now, the following routes are the best ones to go for.

Currently the only cheap flights to Bucharest from the UK are from London and Liverpool. Wizzair operates the routes from London Luton and Liverpool John Lennon airports, whilst flagship carrier British Airways flies out of London Heathrow.

Low cost carrier Wizzair offers bargain flights to Bucharest from Rome and Parma. SkyEurope and MyAir also fly to Bucharest from Rome, whilst visitors wishing to travel from Milan can get cheap flight deals with Easyjet and MyAir.
Windjet flies to the Romanian capital from Catania and Palermo in Sicily, and Bologna on the mainland, whilst On Air operates a direct route from Pescara.
MyAir has good value deals on no frills flights from Naples, Catania, Venice, Bologna and Bari, while Alpi Eagles also flies to Bucharest from Venezia Marco Polo airport.
