Fly direct to London, Prague, Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam & more with Italian operators such as Meridiana and Windjet. Or book at bargain prices to Kosovo, Moscow & Moldova.
One common mistake that travellers often make whilst looking for cheap flights within Europe is to only look at the bigger, more famous budget airlines such as Ryanair and Easyjet. Often such airlines will have the cheapest fares and best bargains, but sometimes lesser known companies can offer better prices, more convenient flight times and routes that are not available with some of the bigger operators. For example, did you know that you can fly direct from Verona (Italy) to Pristina (Kosovo) and Chisinau (Moldova), amongst other places in Eastern Europe?
Often these airlines are not based in the UK, as many of the bigger cheap flight deal merchants are – many of Europe’s bigger countries have their own budget airlines. These include Meridiana and Windjet in Italy
Meridiana is largely based in Italy, but flies across Europe. Within Italy, it has flights to and from Turin, Milan, Bologna, Verona, Florence, Rome, Bari, Olbia, Cagliari, Lamezia, Naples, Palermo, Catania, Trapani in Sicily and Pantelleria.
While a lot of the flights with Meridiana are Italian domestic flights (say from Turin to Catania or Bologna to Cagliari in Sardinia), the airline also flies some international routes. Destinations that can be reached from Italy with Meridiana are as follows.
Ibiza, Madrid, Tenerife, Barcelona (Spain), London Gatwick (England), Paris Charles De Gaulle (France), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Prague (Czech Republic), Chisinau (Moldova), Budapest (Hungary), Malta Luga (Malta), Pristina (Kosovo), Mykonos and Heraklion (Greece).
Windjet is also an Italian budget airline. While it doesn’t quite have the same range of destinations as Meridiana, it is worth checking the their offers to see if a cheaper deal or more convenient flying time is available. Again, Windjet largely concentrates on domestic flights, and has its main bases in Forli and Catania, Sicily. Other Italian destinations that can also be reached with Windjet are Milan Orio al Serio, Bergamo, Verona, Pisa, Venice Marco Polo, Rome and Palermo.
Cheap international flights from Italy with Windjet leave from Verona, Forli, Catania and Palermo airports. International destinations that can be reached from Italy with Windjet are as follows.
Rostov, Moscow, St Petersburg (Russia), Bucharest (Romania), Paris (France), Madrid, Barcelona (Spain) and Xanthi (Greece).
